I was recently hired to perform as a Dinner Party Magician in Winchester, Hampshire.
As a Table Magician I was the perfect choice for the dinner party entertainment.
This was for a private house party where there were 32 guests all seated in a barn away from the house at the end of their lawn
My role was to perform table magic during the courses. And then again for after dinner entertainment.
The meal consisted of a 7 course meal and over a period of 2 hours I worked around the table performing magic to small groups of guests.

I performed card tricks, tricks with cups and balls (one of the oldest magic tricks on record) and my favourite routine, where I produce impossible objects from nowhere like a potato, lemon and kiwi fruit. Elastics bands and coins and I finished with a few pieces of mind reading mixed in with some pick pocketing!
This was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and I really look forward to events like this when the mood is relaxed I can get to know the guests and they are not bombarded with lots of magic all at once, just like the food it was delivered in small bit size chunks and everyone really enjoyed it.
I have performed at a few dinner parties where there are a lot more guests where my attendance as a Magician was kept a secret, I would be seated as a guest and and start to perform my tricks gradually to a point when everyone realised that I was more than a guest who could do a few tricks!
For this event with only 32 guests everyone knew everyone and I could not get away with this, so was introduced as the entertainment for the evening.
Once I have performed my usual tricks there are always a few people who want to see more and on this evening as I wasn’t going to any other events and was close to home I stayed a bit later and sat with a few of the men showing them some poker tricks and a gambling demonstration.
This always goes down well with the men. The belief that I am a super card shark who could win at any game of cards is great.
I said my goodbyes and left the evening around 10pm to a large round of applause just as the cheese board was coming out.

For clarity the images used on this post were not from the event in question as the organiser did not want any publicity from the event as they were a TV celebrity and this was a private event just for their friends and didn’t want any images from it appearing on social media.
